Zones

Zones are the top-level grouping in binthere — typically a room or a physical location. Garage, Attic, Basement, Office, Storage Unit, Craft Room.

Creating a zone

From the Zones tab, tap +. Pick a name, an SF Symbols icon, and a color. Zones show up as cards on the main grid.

Importing from Apple Home

If you’ve set up rooms in Apple Home, tap Import from Home to pull them in as zones. Icons and room names come across automatically — edit or delete any you don’t need.

This is a one-time import; binthere doesn’t stay synced with Home.

Zone detail

Tap a zone to see every bin inside it and a running count of items. Swipe or tap Settings on a zone to rename, recolor, or delete it.

Deleting a zone

If a zone has bins in it, binthere asks what to do with them: move them to another zone, or delete them along with everything inside. Deletion is permanent — there’s no undo on the app, but if you’re signed in, deleted items remain in cloud backup for 30 days (see Privacy).
